Setting Up A Wireless Network

If you’re thinking of setting up a wireless network for the office and even for your home means you’re interested in having a mobile network system where you can use your pcs without having wires inside your walls making sure your computer has a connection

Yet, a lot of us are not technologically-inclined. Is setting up a wireless network really that easy? Don’t I need somebody to help us with this? It may make the job a lot easier but if you want to do things yourself, here are a few tips:

  • What Wireless Network do you need? Before setting everything up, you need to make sure you know what you want. Understand the various options available for you in the market. You can use the internet as a source for information or ask friends and family for suggestions.
  • Vantage Points and Points of Access. Determining a Point of Access or AP is important in setting up a wireless network. Remember to implement Connection, Wired Interface and Security settings as well. If you need any help, you can call your friendly tech support groups or consult your vendor.
  • Manage your Ethernet Interface. Select the things you need mainly the speed and duplex settings. At times this can be automatic after having a suitable AP.
  • Purchase a Laptop. The whole point of a wireless network is mobility. So you would want equipment that you can use to move around the house. Laptops will do that for you but don’t throw that desktop just yet as you can use this along with the wireless network.

The last thing you need to think about is to ensure your network’s security. This is crucial to wireless connections and must be one of the foremost things you need to think of when setting up a wireless network. Strangers may listen in on private conversations so make sure you have your security up
